CAWPC Youth Committee
Randy Gossen, the current President of the World Petroleum Council, had a vision. He felt that the voice of youth was missing in the discussion about the future of the petroleum industry.
"Young talent, knowledge and perspectives are vital for the world to solve our future energy challenge," said WPC President Dr. Randy Gossen. "We believe that young people are our industry's greatest spokes people and must be involved in crafting the future, not just inheriting it".
In summer of 2010, the CAWPC formally selected a 17-member committee of Canada's top young energy talent toform a National Youth Committee. We have committee members from coast-to-coast representing all facets of the petroleum sector; large multinational oil and gas companies, investment firms, academia, consulting, government and technology. Since inception, our committee has been involved in many exciting initiatives such as getting involved in speaker series, global conferences and documentaries, to name a few.
As we gain momentum, we look forward to leading the charge on engaging youth in Canada on the topic of energy.
